Padel New Zealand Tour 2025
Welcome to the inaugural Padel New Zealand Tour 2025, a nationwide series of tournaments designed to bring players of all levels together.
There will be three events in 2025 – starting off in Tauranga, then off to Wellington in the winter, and lastly Auckland in the summer—each offering the opportunity to earn official ranking points and showcase your skills.

Hosted by Padel House (48A Kemp Street, Kilbirnie, Wellington)
Note: 3-day event (games will start Friday afternoon due to venue having 3 courts)

3-day event (Friday–Sunday)
Friday: Games starting from afternoon to 9pm (required to attend for teams)
Saturday & Sunday: Games from morning to evening (required to attend for teams)

Player License
To play in national tournaments arranged by Padel New Zealand you will need a player license.
The license is purchased per annum(July 2025-June 2026). Credit card fees apply. Note: Fee to be determined for new financial year in May 2025.
Licenses help Padel New Zealand maintain accurate records of player participation, skill levels, and ranking points throughout the season.

Registration & Entry Fee
Registrations to open early June 2025. Limited spaces for this tournament so please ensure you register early to not miss out. (The Tauranga tournament sold out in 2 weeks and had a waitlist of teams who never got in)

Ranking Points
All Padel New Zealand’s tournaments will have Ranking Points.
Points will be awarded at each tournament based on match results.
Rankings will be updated on our website after each event.

Refereeing
Tournament will be managed without referees involved in each game.
There will be a Head of Referees appointed by Padel New Zealand who will work together with the Event Organiser to ensure that players are able to referee their own games.

Draws
The draws will be done by the hosting club the week before the event, after close of registrations.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Who can enter these tournaments?
Anyone with a valid Padel New Zealand player license is welcome, regardless of skill level or nationality.
2. What is A grade and B-grade?
A‐grade is for advanced, competitive players with stronger skills whereas B‐grade is ideal for intermediate or more casual players.
3. I don’t have a partner—can I register?
Please find a partner before registering - you will need to enter as a team. Your local club may able to assist to find partners or looking in the current Whatsapp groups to set up games is another option.
4. What equipment do I need?
A standard padel racket and non-marking shoes. HEAD padel balls are provided, and a limited number of demo rackets will be available to borrow at some venues.
5. How do match formats and scoring work?
Matches are typically best-of-two sets in the pool rounds to accommodate all matches across the event. Minor variations for each venue are possible if court time is limited. Players to call out the scores.
6. How do I get or renew a player license?
All players will need a new player license for the new financial year July 2025-June 2026. You can purchase the player license here from when registrations open early June.
7. Can I change divisions after signing up?
Please contact Padel New Zealand. If there’s space in the new division and it aligns with your skill level, we will ask the club hosting the tournament and making the draws to consider your request. But best is to consider what level you want to play before entering please as spaces are limited.
8. Will there will be medals and prizes for the winners?
There will be medals for Gold, Silver and Bronze winners in each category and a trophy awarded to the “Team of the Year” at the end of the Tour 2025. Depending on sponsors, there may also be some prizes but this will vary each venue. Padel New Zealand is a non-profit organisation with volunteers dedicating their time to running the events so we can not commit to more than providing medals and a trophy and some of our own sponsors’ prizes. Companies wishing to provide sponsored prizes are welcome to contact us.
9. Are spectators allowed?
Friends and family are welcome to come along and support. Each venue will have its own food and beverage options. There could be limited space in some venues.
10. Where can I find the updated rankings?
Ranking points will be tallied after each tournament. Results will be posted on the Padel New Zealand website 1 week after the tournament. Keep an eye on at social media for announcements.
